Dr Neal Speight

When I met Deborah nearly ten years ago, little did I know just how profound her influence would be in my life. With the exception of my mom, no woman has moved the direction of my life toward the Lord more significantly than this dear friend.

As a result of obedience in the midst of her desert experiences, I believe God has filled Deborah with wisdom that we would all do well to take to heart. Do you ever ask yourself why you seem to end up in the same situation over and over again? Why you fear the future, or are frustrated with relationships? Could it be that God whispered in your ear and touched your heart, yet you were unwilling to be obedient to His nudge? As a result did you see your hopes, finances, or relationships destroyed?

I have had the privilege of watching one of God’s greatest servants lead by example. Being obedient to God’s call, she has displayed the fruit of a truly spirit-filled life. He sent her to my office for medical care. At least, that’s what I thought. I came to realize that as with so many others, God sent Deborah to minister to me. As the years unfolded, time and time again I saw her speak into my life and into the lives of others either wisdom from the Word or a direct revelation from His heart to ours. When we listened we were blessed, and when we did not, God make it clear the consequences of disobedience.

Without a doubt, knowing Deborah has been one of the most supernatural experiences of my life. From the interpretations of dreams, to the decision to marry, from direction in my career, to long-distance travel, the Lord has used her to confirm what I already knew and at times turn me around when I refused to follow Him. I thank God for her obedience and her presence through these years, for had she not listened to the Lord she would have never called to warn of upcoming events in my life, or interpret dreams that unfolded just as she said. Through the practice of her faith, she has allowed me to see that God does indeed care intimately about what happens in all of our lives. What a delightful journey it has been.

In her book, God’s Priceless Treasure, you will find the wisdom of one tried by fire; one who has earned the right to speak because of her obedience and devotion to the God of creation. I encourage you to read every word and let them warm your heart as they have mine.

To my dearest friend I say thank you for your service and for imparting these precious words of wisdom to us all. I can never repay you for what you have done in my life through your service to Him.
