STAND FIRM
Stand firm in Christ. Scripture: Isaiah 52:7; Romans 10:15
It’s Christmas time, but no time to compromise. It’s really Christmas 365 days a year to the believer. We have the gift of Jesus and the power of standing on His Word. We must stay in peace to keep our walk with the Lord pure and holy. And learn to stand in agreement with GOD in prayer. We must heed the warnings of God however He sends them…through a check in our spirit, an uneasiness or burden we sense, a dream, vision, through His Word, or voice. Never ignore the warnings and promptings from God. Keep your heart pure and your feet shod with the gospel of peace at all times so you can hear the Voice of God.
When was the last time you heard a message about feet? You might be reminded of the time in Scripture when Jesus washed the feet of His own disciples. Some of you might think of walking on sand in the heat of the day and coming in to a refreshing bath. Some of you might be thinking about coming in from a ski trip out in the snow—with your feet by a fire and a cup of hot chocolate.
The Apostle Paul did not avoid the subject of feet. He made feet a focal point of one of his most powerful messages. We must learn to stay in peace…with our feet shod with the gospel of peace, at all times. We must not allow the wind and waves of life to get inside us…no matter what we are facing in life. No matter what battle is raging, what attack has happened, or what you are seeing all around you, don’t allow the raging seas to get inside your heart. Keep your eyes focused on Jesus and don’t allow the enemy to abort God’s plan for your life. Look at what Scripture says about standing firm.
You can read about it in Ephesians 6:10-18—about the armor of God. Let’s take a closer look.
The Bile says it four times in four verses (verses 11-14 NIV), Paul declares that the armor’s purpose is to help us “stand,” “stand against the devil’s schemes,” “stand [our] ground,” and “stand firm.” Armor would be incomplete without shoes. Paul identified this as “the preparation of the gospel of peace” (verse 15). Paul knew that we would need to be equipped and have a firm foundation in Christ to face opposition. And you get rest assured, if you are still breathing, you will face opposition.
The Roman soldier’s sandals had a long spike at the heel of the shoe. The purpose was to allow the warrior to plant his feet firmly in the ground when an opponent approached. The soldier would have an obvious advantage with his feet secured in the ground. He would be able to stand in the face of opposition and not be moved. This part of his uniform enabled him to keep his footing even in the face of the enemy and danger.
That is precisely what our Father God wants for every one of His children today: the ability to stand firm in the face of troubles and opposition. This is possible when we plant our feet on a firm foundation—the foundation of faith in Jesus Christ—the Solid Rock on which we stand. That’s what happens when we are in a life or death situation, we can cry out to God for help. We know WHO to turn to when problems arise because we know WHO we are IN CHRIST and we belong to HIM. We must learn to live by faith.
Ask yourself this question: “Is my faith well grounded?”
With the evil that has escalated across America and the unrest across the nations, it is imperative that we are secure in Christ and learn to stand firm in Him. We are also to be identified by the fruit of our lives—the way we act. (See Luke 6:44 and Matthew 7:16). The Holy Spirit has graciously given us love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. (Galatians 5:22-23). When we are faced with extreme adverse circumstances, any of us can act inappropriately. Often times our fruit can be anger, conflict, sorrow, defensiveness, harshness, impatience, and even rudeness. We could say it may be anything but self-control. Oh, and let’s not get in the seat of judgment and pretend to know how it feels to walk through a crisis of one sort or another. You really don’t know how you would respond or react till you walk in the same situation. So ZIP IT now….God doesn’t call us to be jury and judge. We are called to pray for one another.
We also must not pretend the enemy does not exist…like an unwise person who walks up on a python and thinks it is okay to play with it. We are not called to ignore the enemy or his tactics. We must know that the deceiver can use our wounds from the past, agreements we have made, weaknesses in our flesh, and the lies we have believed of the enemy to keep us locked in a negative cycle of sinful behavior and wrong choices.
I can assure you that if you have any knowledge of God at all, when faced with a crisis, most people will call upon God. Even America called on God in prayer right after September 11th…and churches were filled to overflow for about three weeks. Then life went back to what the world thought was normal. But it is anything but normal.
We must seek godly counsel and wisdom, along with prayer and ministry to find lasting help. For immediate help, prayer is the first thing we must do. No matter if you personally believe it or not, Satan is real and so are his evil tactics. He uses a hierarchy of fallen angels for his evil purposes because he doesn’t have the authority, power, and abilities of God. Satan is not omnipresent. And don’t think Christians cannot be harassed, oppressed, or afflicted. If you think that way—you are already deceived.
The enemy comes like a roaring lion—seeking those he may devour. So what can we do when it is obvious that we are being attacked? What can we do when we are acting out in ways that are not in our character as a born-again believer of Jesus Christ? Get on our knees in prayer—cry out to God for help.
Pray Psalm 91 and Psalm 59. Say them out loud. The spoken Word of God cannot return void. What else can we do? Put on the armor of God. (See Ephesians 6:11-18) The shield of faith, the helmet of salvation that guards our mind, will and emotions, shoes of peace, and the belt of truth are defensive weapons. The Word of God is an offensive weapon. We need to stay close to God…read His Word and study the Bible on a daily basis. Our other offensive weapon is prayer. Choose to cultivate a life of prayer that goes far beyond praying over meals and crying out to God only in a crisis. Talk to God all day long. When you wake up in the night time, tell the LORD that you love Him. Talk to Him throughout your day. Each day of life is a gift from our Father God.
The Bible and prayer will do more to help show the true fruit of who we are than anything else we can do in this life. We must ask God to help us cast aside any of the rotten fruit of Satan and enjoy the precious fruits of the Holy Spirit in our lives.
Choose to enjoy Christmas—365 days a year. Choose to enjoy family and friends. Make wise choices and stand firm—planted on the solid Rock—Jesus Christ.

LIVING FOR ONE THING
David’s own family didn’t see him coming. They didn’t think or ponder that he was even in the lineup to be king. But God…saw David in the fields, tending the sheep, worshiping the Lord God Himself, and He saw a heart that was after Him.
While it is easy to get preoccupied with the world’s mess down here, you better stay focused on Jesus and on souls. I am telling you…Jesus is coming back soon. The revival fires are coming! There are people in the fields that are in need of Jesus. The fields are ripe with harvest.…souls. That will put your feet to dancing….worshiping before the Lord.
It is easy to get focused on the vision for our lives to the place that we miss the process totally. It’s easy to get caught up in the world system and live beneath God’s supernatural plan for our lives.
God wants us to grow into the likeness and maturity of Jesus. He wants us to do like Andrew did in the Bible (Andrew means bringer…he was always bringing people to Jesus)…to bring as many converts to Him as possible, and to speak life for transformation of the nations and to the people we meet everywhere we go in life. He wants us to use our God-given authority to bring about transformation in our sphere of influence.
We are called into fellowship with God. We get to spend time with Him, and His Holy Spirit lives inside of us and can rest upon us.
Everything we could ever want out of life flows from from this one privilege that King David understood better than most New Testament believers. David referred to it as the one thing:
One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in his temple. (Psalm 27:4 KJV).
One thing I ask from the LORD, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the LORD and to seek Him in His temple. (Psalm 27:4 NIV)
We must learn to welcome and host the Holy Presence of God…if we want to see and experience revival fires, a returning to God as a nation. Repentance is key. We must seek God with all of our heart, mind and soul as believers…watching for His return…and occupying till He comes.
Jesus said, “But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you” (Matthew 6:33). The Kingdom is not separate from His Presence. This command by Jesus is to simplify and prioritize our lives down to this one thing which is evidenced by right living and winning souls.
As yourself these questions:
Am I surrendered to the Holy Spirit?
Do I try to run everything and want control?
Has the Presence of the Lord changed my heart attitudes to line up with Jesus?
Does His Holy Presence affect the vision and focus of my life personally?
Am I fully submitted to God so that I obey immediately?
Do I have any feelings against anyone that is clearly against God’s Holy Word?
Ask the LORD what it is that He wants you to do next. It may be to invite someone else to preach/teach/minister at your church—so GOD HIMSELF can usher in revival. Sometimes God uses the most least likely candidates — like you read above—about David.
“Whatever He says to you, do it? (John 2:5).
Remember this: God spoke the worlds into being. “By the word of the Lord the heavens were made, and by the breath of His mouth all their host” (Psalm 33:6; Genesis 1:3-24).
Use your words wisely. Speak life. Connect with other believers who are on fire for God—and fan the flame in those whose flame has been reduced to a flicker. People are hurting and need encouragement. Someone is about to give up that needs you to give them hope.
Take time to spend in God’s Presence and devour His Word. When we are so full of God that we want what He wants, we move to obedience immediately.
We have the most amazing privilege of carrying God’s presence. Let’s bring Heaven to earth…together….knowing we are called by God into divine purpose.
We must live for more…more of God…a fresh filling of the Holy Spirit on a daily basis. In Acts 4, Peter joins many others in prayer and prays for more—more boldness. God wants us to be empowered by His Holy Presence so that we can snatch souls from the realms of darkness.
“Lord, let your people live in overflow!” In Jesus’ name! Lord, heal every heart, dry every tear, and bring healing and salvation to every household.”

THE MIDNIGHT HOUR (Will America Turn Back To God?)
ENDTIME WARNINGS….
You may be worried, stressed out, angry, depressed, or just flat not realize what is going on. You may be caught up in complaining and murmuring due to watching too much media. You may be living life on top of the world in a manmade bubble and not be concerned at all, but the person with his or her eyes open recognizes something is changing drastically.
With all the floods, fire, and destruction that has happened across America, we must know and understand the warnings. Are we living in the last of the last days that the Bible warns us about? The Scriptures teach that there will be an end to human history as we know it. It will not be the end of the world, but the end of the world system as we know it.
I find it interesting that the recent hurricane named IRMA means “world.” Could it be that we witnessed a storm against the world system that is dominated by evil as a natural manifestation? I believe so. God is sending warning after warning, confirmation after confirmation, for people to be prepared for eternity.
We live in a world that operates with the laws of nature. If you fall off a bicycle, you will hit the ground. If you jump off a building, you will most likely kill yourself. The law of gravity is in operation. Hurricanes, and earthquakes occur with the natural release of pent-up energy, as well as fault lines being in the earth for movement. It is not wisdom to build a house on a fault line no more than it is wisdom to build a development in a flood plain. One may end up in a heap of ashes, while the other will eventually be flooded over time.
We live in a fallen world because of sin—the fall of mankind in the Garden of Eden. God sent His Son Jesus to redeem all mankind. He came as a baby, but He is coming back as the KING of kings and LORD of lords…where His Kingdom will reign forevermore.
The Bible teaches that Satan is “the prince of this world” (John 12:31) and, “the ruler of the kingdom of the air, the spirit who is now at work in those who are disobedient” (Ephesians 2:2). Satan knows his time is short and he is in constant conflict with God while pursuing his deadly plan. The war in the heavens that is happening is manifesting on earth in storms, wars and rumors of wars, and multiplied destructions.
We all need God. Without Him, there is no hope for humanity. The enemy was defeated on the Cross at Calvary, but as believers, we must stand up and use our God-given authority and influence in the earth.
The Bible warns us of changing times and easily discernible signs that will occur at the end of the age. Jesus said in Matthew 24 that there would be famines, pestilences, and earthquakes, but He also said that these would only be the beginning. Jesus said that people “will betray and hurt each other, and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. Because of the increase in wickedness, the love of most will grow cold” (Matthew 24:10-12).
Jesus added: “This gospel of the Kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all the nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14).
Because of increased technology, this is a very real possibility of reaching the whole world before the end of this century. If you are led by the Lord, you can go to our website: starministriesinc.com and click on worldwide outreach to give a one time donation or become a monthly partner and help us reach the nations with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
With the warnings from the government to be prepared and evacuate with the recent storms, it is a natural manifestation of what will one day occur. Jesus will call us home. Are you prepared to meet Jesus? Are you ready for Christ’s return? Make sure today.
“Heavenly Father, I ask You to heal every heart, wipe away every tear, and bring about full restoration where the enemy has stolen. Bring about revival across the nations and turn America back to You again. I ask You Lord to open blind eyes to see the truth and the times in which we live. I thank You Father God for the Holy Spirit who convicts the world of sin. Touch every heart to turn to You. In Jesus’ precious name, I pray.”
Amen.”
