Arise, Shine & Tell the World About Jesus
You were created with divine purpose by God “for such a time as this” to arise and shine and to go forth telling the people in your sphere of influence about the hope you have in Christ Jesus. If you don’t tell them, how else will they know? Choose to live with eternity in mind and think about souls.
The world we live in today has changed drastically and is nothing like many of us encountered in our youth. We are witnessing the demise of a nation through four categories of immorality before our eyes that Paul lists for Timothy. Exaltation of self, rejection of authority, rejection of moral standards, and vicious and unloving. We are living in a world that is clearly the end times.
Live like Jesus may come today and lift up the Name of Jesus by being the hands and feet of our loving Savior to a lost and dying world around us. Godly people ought not be haughty nor proud, but bold and confident in Christ. Exalt Christ and “Be clothed with humility” (1 Peter 5:5). It’s a choice to walk in humility because the flesh will try to rise up because of our sin nature. We must make a choice to allow God to do a work in us so we can be used by Him in the lives of people around us.
Every day you get out of bed, make the decision to put on humility and walk in it the remainder of each day. Once you are born-again through the gift of salvation in Jesus Christ through the finished work on the Cross, your life isn’t about you anymore–it’s about Jesus. When you let this truth sink in, your life will change.
Knowing God and making Him known ought to be our life goal. Submit to God’s authority and walk in the power He provided. Raise the standard – the Word of God – and live by God’s principles. Love people through speaking the truth in love–even if you have to love some from a distance.
Live for God, not this world. Put Jesus first–no matter what! Surround yourself with other believers of strong faith and spur each other onward in Christ. The writer of Hebrews says, “Let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching” (Hebrews 10:24-25).
Make sure you have come to know Jesus because the hour is late and eternity is forever. Learn to walk with Him and tell everyone you know He is coming back soon!
His love and mine,
Deborah
