PRAISE INVOKES THE LORD’S PRESENCE AND POWER

The Bible says that God inhabits the praises of His people (Psalm 22:3). God “dwells” in the atmosphere of praise. Praise is actually a vehicle of faith that brings us into the presence of God! We can enter the “gate” which brings us into the Holiness of His glory. The psalmist writes, “Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, and into His courts with praise; be thankful unto Him, and bless His name” (Psalm 100:4).

This also corresponds with Jesus’ teaching that His presence will inhabit even two or three believers gathered together in His name. The Bible says, “For where two or three are gathered in My name, there I am in the midst of them” (Matthew 18:20). Jesus must be the one that is preached about, the one who is praised and worshiped, and sung about. Lifting up Jesus through praise and worship invokes the Lord’s presence and power.
