God’s Favor
One of the principles of the Kingdom of God is that God favors those who are just (Proverbs 12:2). God has promised victory and will bring good out of even the most difficult situations as we learn to trust Him with childlike faith. He has also promised to meet our most pressing needs.
Jesus said that He came that we might have a meaningful, purposeful, abundant life (John 10:10). God’s favor is “yes” and “amen” in every promise of His Word.
What Scripture Says
“But you, O Lord, are a God full of compassion, and gracious, longsuffering, and abundant in mercy and truth” (Psalm 86:15).
“So Jesus said to them, Because of your unbelief; for assuredly I say to you, if you have faith as a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, Move from here to there, and it will move; and nothing will be impossible for you” (Matthew 17:20).
“But the Lord was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison” (Genesis 39:21).
“Wait on the Lord; be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; wait, I say, on the Lord!” (Psalm 27:14).
“If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor (favor)” (John 12:26b).
How Favor Is Received
The Bible contains many benedictions which ask for God’s favor and blessing upon us. Favor from God comes solely because of His love and grace. God does not bless out of obligation, but out of love. The Bible also says that there are times when God will cause even your enemies to be at peace with you (Proverbs 16:7).
Begin to pray and believe God according to His promises which are “yes” and “amen”
(2 Corinthians 1:20). Renew your mind by reading the Word of God. Begin to pray aloud the Word of God over your circumstances. God hears and answers our prayers.
Search the Scriptures (using a concordance) for God’s Word on His promises to you. Practice confessing them. As a child of God, you can trust that God’s grace (unmerited favor) will be upon you and that you will flourish (Proverbs 14:11; Psalm 84:11; 92:12).
God requires that we do not regard iniquity (sin) in our hearts. If you have not individually called upon the Lord Jesus Christ and asked the Lord to forgive you of your sins, do so now. God desires you to experience His salvation and baptism in the Holy Spirit so you will be in position to receive all He has for you.
As you pray, begin to praise God and thank Him for His faithfulness.
Receive, in the name of Jesus, God’s favor.
